The current version of mysql apparently doesn't support IPv6 at all. The 5.0.32 (etch) server I have running only listens on IPv4 sockets, and libmysqlclient 5.0.45 uses gethostbyname_r() to look up hostnames, which is not IPv6-aware. I don't know if mysql 5.1 in experimental does any better with this, but it would be nice to have IPv6 support in mysql for lenny; IPv6 is not just for in front of the firewall. :) -- Steve Langasek Give me a lever long enough and a Free OS Debian Developer to set it on, and I can move the world.
