Something similar happens also here - my Acer TM435LMi's touchpad has 4 additional keys (buttons 6 and 7 for horizontal scrolling, buttons 4 and 5 for vertical scrolling) which used to work correctly. When 'SHMConfig' is 'on' and ksynaptics is installed the buttons 4 and 5 send button 1 and button 3 events. Everything works fine before starting a KDE session, removing ksynaptics/libsynaptics0 packages or setting 'SHMConfig' to 'off'. All the other keys seem to work as expected.
