Package: man-db Version: 2.5.0-2 Severity: normal Hi,
Many thanks for fixing #446189. Of course I'll switch to MAN_KEEP_FORMATTING in the next dwww upload. While working on dwww I found another bug: `man -k' (which is called by dwww) segfaults because of invalid pointer passed to the free() call. The same bug occures with `whatis -L'. Example: $ LC_ALL=C man -k some_argument some_argument: nothing appropriate. *** glibc detected *** apropos: free(): invalid pointer: 0xbfda7beb *** ======= Backtrace: ========= /lib/i686/cmov/libc.so.6[0xb7e49ce5] /lib/i686/cmov/libc.so.6(cfree+0x90)[0xb7e4d780] apropos[0x804b138] /lib/i686/cmov/libc.so.6(__libc_start_main+0xe0)[0xb7df6050] apropos[0x8049c71] ======= Memory map: ======== 08048000-08056000 r-xp 00000000 08:05 1457535 /usr/bin/apropos 08056000-08057000 rw-p 0000e000 08:05 1457535 /usr/bin/apropos 08057000-080f9000 rw-p 08057000 00:00 0 [heap] b7a00000-b7a21000 rw-p b7a00000 00:00 0 b7a21000-b7b00000 ---p b7a21000 00:00 0 b7bb2000-b7bbc000 r-xp 00000000 08:01 297094 /lib/libgcc_s.so.1 b7bbc000-b7bbd000 rw-p 00009000 08:01 297094 /lib/libgcc_s.so.1 b7bde000-b7bdf000 rw-p b7bde000 00:00 0 b7bdf000-b7ddf000 r--p 00000000 08:05 884441 [ stripped ] Best Regards, robert -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (990, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.22 Locale: LANG=pl_PL, LC_CTYPE=pl_PL (charmap=ISO-8859-2) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/pdksh Versions of packages man-db depends on: ii bsdmainutils 6.1.7 collection of more utilities from ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.14 Debian configuration management sy ii dpkg 1.14.7 package maintenance system for Deb ii groff-base 1.18.1.1-13 GNU troff text-formatting system ( ii libc6 2.6.1-5 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libgdbm3 1.8.3-3 GNU dbm database routines (runtime ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.3.dfsg-6 compression library - runtime man-db recommends no packages. -- debconf information: man-db/build-database: true man-db/rebuild-database: true * man-db/install-setuid: false -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
