I believe this would indeed be a good thing, but I expect this would require more work on the client, as it'd need to be able to offer/try several platforms with any project's scheduler... Your proposal is definitely a step toward my idea of a multiplatform-capable boinc client. I'll get back to you ASAP with my test results.
