Package: reportbug
Version: 3.31ubuntu1
Severity: wishlist

Hi!

I don't know where to report this:

The ubuntu reportbug packaga, while available in the repository, has a
serious usage limitation:

If you donwload the package from the ubuntu repository, the default
install has an ubuntu bts that never gives answers.
I repeat: those messages don't reach any developer seriously. They go to
some mailing list.
The real bug tracking system of ubuntu is in another place, not on that
mailing list, but at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu (have a look at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/reportbug )...

I think this field should be the debian database in many of the cases I
report bugs to, but maybe other people wants to report ubuntu-exclusive
issues, that's true. In that case, the better solution would be a bts
that is _actually_ tracked.

Debian devlopers are loosing a lot of the input the users give through
reportbug, as the "wishlist" items, that not necesarilly are linked to
the ubuntu implementation but more to the product development, and maybe
are interesting for debian even when they are generated inside the [not
so] different community.

Just wanted you to know... in hope that you will be able and interested
on changing this situation

Thanks for your time

Tatiana
