revelation build-depends on python-dev but hardcodes python2.4 in debian/rules. If it really only supports only version 2.4, please consider forcing the use if python2.4, moving the modules to a private directory, and require only python 2.4. Otherwise, you should make it look for the current python version at build time, or even better, build it for all supported python versions.
