Package: rss-glx Version: 0.8.1-6+b1 Severity: normal
Every time I turn on any of the screen savers in this package it uses 100% CPU, or at least 100% of one core (I have 4). This is double-weird because I have an NVidia based card with all the binary drivers installed. glxinfo(1) and glewinfo(1) seem to suggest OpenGL is set up ok: $ glxinfo name of display: :0.0 display: :0 screen: 0 direct rendering: Yes server glx vendor string: NVIDIA Corporation server glx version string: 1.4 server glx extensions: GLX_EXT_visual_info, GLX_EXT_visual_rating, GLX_SGIX_fbconfig, GLX_SGIX_pbuffer, GLX_SGI_video_sync, GLX_SGI_swap_control, GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap, GLX_ARB_multisample, GLX_NV_float_buffer, GLX_ARB_fbconfig_float, GLX_EXT_framebuffer_sRGB [snipped] $ glewinfo --------------------------- GLEW Extension Info --------------------------- GLEW version 1.4.0 Reporting capabilities of display :0.0, visual 0x2b Running on a GeForce 8500 GT/PCI/SSE2 from NVIDIA Corporation OpenGL version 2.1.1 NVIDIA 100.14.11 is supported [snipped] glewinfo further says I have almost all the GL_NV features. Another indication that the drivers are ok is that I don't see any problems with xscreensaver-gl provided screen-savers. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-2-686 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages rss-glx depends on: ii libalut0 1.1.0-1 OpenAL Utility Toolkit ii libbz2-1.0 1.0.3-7 high-quality block-sorting file co ii libc6 2.6.1-5 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libgcc1 1:4.2.1-5 GCC support library ii libgl1-mesa-glx [libgl 7.0.1-2 A free implementation of the OpenG ii libglew1.4 1.4.0-2 The OpenGL Extension Wrangler - ru ii libglu1-mesa [libglu1] 7.0.1-2 The OpenGL utility library (GLU) ii libmagick9 7:6.2.4.5.dfsg1-1 Image manipulation library ii libopenal0a 1:0.0.8-6 OpenAL is a portable library for 3 ii libstdc++6 4.2.1-5 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-6 2:1.0.3-7 X11 client-side library rss-glx recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
