Package: binutils
Version: 2.18-1
Severity: wishlist

GCC has for a while now provided binaries both with an unprefixed
command name and with DEB_BUILD_GNU_TYPE - so for example
powerpc-linux-gnu-gcc. It would be nice if binutils could do the same.

The prefixed variant makes life a bit easier when supporting cross
compilation of packages since it allows one to just tell the build
system to use the DEB_HOST_GNU_TYPE version of the relevant utility
without worrying if this is a cross build or not.
