Ah right. I've found this now, sorry. But it works as described for
me.

Sorry for not getting back to you more quickly.
purging the package wouldn't get rid of local config. Try removing (or
temporarily moving out of the way) .config/Thunar and .cache/Thunar from
your home directory.
