I can duplicate the problem mentioned in stable (etch) on both i386 and
amd64.
The problem comes from a bug in synscan.nes
[Sun Sep 30 12:32:19 2007][22679] user quel : launching synscan.nes against
debiantest [22694]
There is a note in the 2.2.9 changelog regarding a pcap fix that fixes
issues with synscan.nes
It seems picking the nessus scanner or syn scanner or nmap scanner will
all result in this problem. If all scanners besides the ping are disabled
then nessus works as expected.
