It can be accessed from the system menus (in GNOME it's System -> Preferences -> SCIM Input Method Setup) or the SCIM tray icon (right click, choose "SCIM Setup"). In that program, in the Panel -> GTK page, at the bottom right corner, there is a button after "Font:". What does it show on you system? Press that button and choose the desired size.
