When I start sound-juicer from the commandline it prints "Error getting media
type" and does not play the Audio CD-ROM.

When I try to open the AUDIO CD from the Gnomepanel->Places->Audio Disk
a dialogwindow pops up with the errormessage "Could not open location
'cdda:///dev/hdc' - The default action does not support this protocol. The Audio CD
will not play.
The default action connected with an Audio CD is the plain Debian standard
"sound-juicer -d d%".

Other players work fine on the same system (hard- & software, I have tried : rhythmbox,
"CD Player")

Using Debian Testing, kernel 2.6.21-2-686 #1 SMP Wed Jul 11 03:53:02 UTC 2007
i686 GNU/Linux. Plain installation from Debian Testing netinst image.

Do you also have this problem with version 2.20.0-2 from unstable?

I am running Debian testing!

Nonetheless I installed sound-juicer from Debian unstable w/o error messages:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] tmp > sudo dpkg -i sound-juicer_2.20.0-1_i386.deb
(Reading database ... 78687 files and directories currently installed.)
Preparing to replace sound-juicer 2.16.4-1 (using sound-juicer_2.20.0-1_i386.deb) ...
Unpacking replacement sound-juicer ...
Setting up sound-juicer (2.20.0-1) ...

It has the same problem as sound-juicer from Debian testing ( plus an extra warning "Could not lock drive").
[EMAIL PROTECTED] tmp > sound-juicer
** (sound-juicer:10405): WARNING **: Could not lock drive: Extracting audio from CD
