I don't know if this is related to my platform (amd64), but whenever I
run firefox 2 or Netscape (with Wine), Web pages don't load. I get a
"Server not found" error in the window.

I have QuickTime installed and when it comes up, it successfully gets
the latest web contents without any problems so I'm wondering why this
would be happening with Firefox and Netscape. Is this a bug?

I've just tested wine 0.9.44 running Firefox 2.0.0.7 on an amd64 system,
and it works. Is this still a problem for you?

It is. I removed my ~/.wine directory and re-installed Firefox 2.0.0.7 on this system also. Installation went perfectly fine; an icon was created on my desktop (gnome) and running Firefox was no problem, but I still have no access to the network under wine. These are the wine packages I have installed:

ii libwine-capi 0.9.44-1 Windows API Implementation (ISDN Module) ii libwine-cms 0.9.44-1 Windows API Implementation (Color Management Module) ii libwine-gl 0.9.44-1 Windows API Implementation (OpenGL Module) ii libwine-gphoto2 0.9.44-1 Windows API Implementation (Camera Module) ii libwine-ldap 0.9.44-1 Windows API Implementation (LDAP Module) ii libwine-print 0.9.44-1 Windows API Implementation (Printing Module) ii libwine-sane 0.9.44-1 Windows API Implementation (Scanner Module) ii wine 0.9.44-1 Windows API Implementation (standard suite) ii wine-bin 0.9.44-1 Windows API Implementation (Binary Loader) ii wine-utils 0.9.44-1 Windows API Implementation (Utilities) ii xwine 1.0.1-1.1 graphical user interface for the WINE emulator

Should I file a new bug report? I'm using an up-to-date lenny amd64 system. I'm not sure why it works on your system and not this one.
