Ok the problem could be that the S-video output is enabled because the driver wrongly detects it as connected. There's a fix in the upstream git repository for this, I'll try to update the Debian package shortly. Have a look at http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=439322 it seems similar to your problem, there might be a workaround for you.
