I'm happy to report that 1.4.0-3~stereo fixes the problem for both libsdl1.2debian-alsa and libsdl1.2debian-all. It even works with or without pulseaudio. Also libsdl1.2debian-esd works with pulseaudio (but obviously not without; I don't have real esound installed). Thanks for your work! Taneli
