It would help if you actually elaborated on the reasons because
although the version of anjuta in sid has bugs, so does the version in
Lenny.

The new version is much improved over the first attempt to upgrade
anjuta when the version in unstable had to be reverted by using the
epoch specified in your report.

Are you prepared to take on maintenance of anjuta1 in Debian
personally? i.e. a fork? You need to make a much more persuasive
argument if you expect the current maintainer to take on the
maintenance of TWO versions of anjuta in Debian. Keeping anjuta1 in
testing means that the maintainer has to fix bugs in both versions.

If you really, really want anjuta1 to remain, your only real option is
to create an ITP and package it yourself as a fork that can be
installed alongside anjuta2 and maintain it yourself in the absence of
any upstream support. I have no idea what would be involved in that
task - it could easily involve maintaining old versions of associated
libraries as well as the anjuta program itself.
