The iPod has 2 partitions: one firmware partition and one partition for the music. Maybe this was the reason. Meanwhile, I began to use HAL with more programs (e.g. thunar) and also had this problem there. The by-devicename thing is created by an udev rule that I added, because I wanted an entry like vendor-device-partition.
