Hello, First of all, my boot manager is GRUB. GRUB boots Debian or the Vista boot loader.
Regarding the clock, you know much more than me. I *think* that, in a computer with Windows and Linux, the time must be saved in the hardware. Then, without the --directisa option, setting the hardware clock to the system time results in an error: # hwclock --systohc select() to /dev/rtc to wait for clock tick timed out a similar message is displayed when the machine boots. It keeps on happening to me since I installed Debian with kernel 2.6.18until know ( 2.6.22). That is why I have to add the option --directisa David On 30/08/07, Alain Guibert <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: There is a link between the Vista dual boot and hwclock --directisa? > I thought this option was only for when the /dev/rtc kernel driver > lacks, or when the RTC chip is somewhat broken. > > > Alain. >
