Package: patchutils
Version: 0.2.31-4
Severity: wishlist

Thank you for making the patchutils. I'd like to ask that all programs
(filterdiff ...) that not yet have accompanying GNU --long for the
short options, would have one. An example:

  filterdiff -z -v -i -p 1 "*doc*" ...
=>
  filterdiff --decompress --include="*doc*" --strip=1

When working with numrous scripts and programs I have come to
appreciate the value of these long options which can be understood
easily without consulting the manual page first.

The typical scenario is that you write script, forget it for several
months and come back, and worder what all these litle itty bitty
(short) options did.
