Package: synaptic Version: 0.60+b1 Severity: normal When doing a mark all updated packages on synaptic, then selecting install, a dialog box came up saying something to the effect of, "need to restart the following due to PAM update". The only option was "forward". Selecting "forward" causes gdm to restart! This in turn caused synaptic to be detached from X11 in a non-recoverable manner.
1) There should be a method to re-attach synaptic if inadvertantly detached. 2) Selecting "forward" should not initiate an action. This should be a yes/no or ok/cancel. Thanks.
