I'm not really surprised. po4a was probably never tested with plural forms
messages.

The reason is that po4a will never generate plural form messages when it
extracts strings from documentation.

But your are right that it may be useful to still accept PO files with
plural forms, for example if it is fed with an existing PO.

(This may indicate that the PO used is not the right PO.)

I will try to support plural forms, but I consider it as low priority.
Just tell me if I missed a use case.
