Yes, I've heard about SCIM not working properly in Java programs before. > I've uploaded the current development version of my program here: > http://www.vultaire.net/software/jkanji/files/jkanji_0.1.4pre1.jar > (Note, I am not asking for you guys to debug my program; I'm just > putting it up to make it easier to reproduce the problem.) > To run the program: java -jar jkanji_0.1.4pre1.jar > [...] > > Specifically for this program: Press Alt-K, a, r, Enter. The menus will also stop responding to the keyboard. Sorry I don't have a lot of time to investigate this problem right now, but I downloaded your Java program, ran it in my unstable system with Sun Java 1.6, XIM mode, and couldn't reproduce the problem following the steps you described above. > > Final note of relevance: > My locale is set to en_US.UTF-8, which was set up to use scim via > "im-switch -s scim-immodule". I also use en_US.UTF-8 locale. Would you please use XIM mode (by command "im-switch -s scim", log out X and log in again) and retry? I would also like to see the SCIM configuration files on your system: /etc/scim/global /etc/scim/config ~/.scim/global ~/.scim/config Can you attach them to a reply to the BTS?
