    People do come back after prolonged absences, but your point is taken.

    That sounds like a good idea to me.  I've inserted the below in the
manpage:

: WARNING
:      This  script  is intended to use under the assumption that the develop-
:      ment version of strips.defs is the latest and best.  Unfortunately,  at
:      the  time  of this writing (August, 2007) upstream development seems to
:      have ceased, so using this script will likely result in a more  out-of-
:      date strips definiton than is included in the distribution.

and the below in the README.debian:

:     WARNING: As upstream development seems to have ceased, the strips.defs
: included in this package is likely superior to the one on the development
: site.  If upstream is ever active again, you may want to follow the
: directions below.
