Package: ccrypt Version: 1.7-11 Severity: wishlist
Once jka-compr-ccrypt is loaded, the built-in emacs support for editing (or using 'info', etc) compressed files is broken: $ emacs --batch -Q --eval '(load-library "jka-compr-ccrypt")' /usr/share/doc/ccrypt/NEWS.gz Loading jka-compr-ccrypt... (gzip -c -q -d) NEWS.gz... Wrong type argument: integerp, "gzip" There is an upstream bug report about this: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1538826&group_id=40913&atid=429289 In that thread, the author provides an alternative elisp library (ps-ccrypt.el) that decrypts only, not interfering with the decompressing emacs library jka-compr. I propose to also include ps-ccrypt.el in the package and to mention it in README.Debian. I think it is more convenient than the current workaround, vaguely described in the upstream doc and in 50ccrypt.el, consisting of unloading the emacs built-in library. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-1-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=es_ES.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=es_ES.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages ccrypt depends on: ii libc6 2.6.1-1 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ccrypt recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
