i installed libgphoto2-2-dev as suggested here: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125696 now everything works ok.
i suppose this particular bug can be closed, but it seems like some package either needs to change the way it identifies cameras or the .la files from the dev package need to be moved to libgphoto2-2. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
