retitle 433118 ion3: Menu method may silently fail to produce menu thanks The inclusion of the code generated by the menu method is already conditional on /usr/bin/update-menus being present, so the lack of dependency is correct. The system on which this error was reported had the menu package installed, anyway. The output of "update-menus -v" on this system showed no errors yet it failed to create /var/lib/ion3/debian-menu-i18n.lua. So it's not at all clear what went wrong.
