For terminals which have a choice of 80 or 132, sure. But PuTTY
supports completely variable terminal sizes, so you have no way to
know what the "original" terminal size is. I think that user
expectation probably trumps this vague verbiage. :)
Get the PuTTY developers to state an official position on the matter.
