Package: binutils Version: 2.17cvs20070718-1 Severity: important On a current amd64 system, try:
objcopy --only-keep-debug /lib/libpthread-2.6.so z.so.debug readelf -s z.so.debug | less All the symbol names will be bogus and contain non-printable characters. It looks vaguely like x86 assembly (lots of 0x90). libc6-dbg is currently broken in unstable because of this bug; this messes up valgrind and gdb. I believe it came in with the last upload. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.21 (SMP w/2 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages binutils depends on: ii libc6 2.6-5 GNU C Library: Shared libraries binutils recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
