i've added a new user "adduser foo" (as suggested) logged in, (default was GNOME desktop) open Impress inserted a video (avi file) with no problem :-) it played. i also check several other videos with different encoding methods, all worked fine.
BUT, a new bug surfaced... the video was playing in a new window it was not embedded in the Normal edit view and also while playing the presentation it would jump off into a new window when the presentation's slide was displayed. it only happened in GNOME , in KDE it worked fine (embedded inside the presentation ) i'll open a new issue for that. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
