Package: maint-guide
Version: 1.2.11
Severity: normal

Condidering (per Adeodato Simó):

Here are the numbers:

    dist | quilt | dpatch
  -------|----------------
   sarge | 11 | 485
  -------|-------|--------
    etch | 338 | 1185
  -------|-------|--------
   lenny | 515 | 1393
  -------|-------|--------
     sid | 598 | 1505

I believe it's very appropriate to at least mention quilt in the new
maintainer guide.

I propose to add following to "6.4 The dpatch system".

Change from:
Several methods for the patch set maintenance have been proposed and are
in use with Debian packages. The dpatch system is one of the simplest of
such patch maintenance system proposed. Other ones are dbs, cdbs, etc.

cdbs, etc. Here I describe debian specific dpatch system below. The
quilt system is non-Debian specific and works similarly.
