I have a fix that is not optimal (hopefully the foxyproxy package can be
fixed) but better than nothing. I looked around in my
~/.mozilla/firefox/ directory, and there should be a *something*.default
directory in there, where *something* is a unique salt to prevent
profile guessing. Inside this directory are the Iceweasel/Firefox
configuration files, among them the file that controls session saving
across restarts: sessionstore.js.
My sessionstore.js reflected the windows opened after installing
foxyproxy, but fortunately Iceweasel automatically generated a backup
called sessionstore.bak. I closed Iceweasel completely (no firefox-bin
process running), renamed sessionstore.js to something else, then
renames my sessionstore.bak to sessionstore.js. After starting up
Iceweasel again I have foxyproxy working and windows/tabs from the last
backup Iceweasel made.
The backup wasn't 100% up to date, so I didn't get everything exactly
how it was before I installed foxyproxy, but it is much better than
nothing! If anyone else runs into this problem before the foxyproxy
package is fixed, look for your sessionstore.bak file!
