I don't think this command solved anything, but anyway it's probably
impossible to debug it now: Your system had still tetex installed,
but this is now gone, and ptex-bin seems to work fine with texlive.

However, the system chooses a strange collection of packages to install
with ptex-bin which I don't understand: Why does it install certain
telive packages at all?. ptex-bin declares:

Depends: ptex-base (>= 1:2.0-3), tetex-bin (>= 2.0.2-17) | texlive-base-bin,
tetex-extra | texlive-math-extra, libc6 (>= 2.5), libkpathsea4

and ptex-base has

Depends: tetex-base | texlive-base, tetex-bin | texlive-base-bin

These are wrong and need to be fixed, therefore there is still something
to this bug, although it's not RC.

First of all, depending on tetex-base never made any sense AFAICT.
These are the correct dependencies:

ptex-base needs to depend on texlive-base-bin (because it calls mktexlsr
in the postinst. By the way, it should be changed:

    configure)

-   mktexlsr
+   mktexlsr /usr/share/texmf

(or simply use dh_installtex).

For ptex-bin, I guess just dropping the tetex alternatives is all that
needs to be done.
