In fact I had more stored options in my first package version but
then I decided that the necessary options for the server should be
enough (a server should be started automatically and at reboots and
whatever) but that on the client side the use cases are just to
diverse (automatic vs. manual start, same vs. different domains,
which nameserver, ...) that it's not worth the hassle.

At least for my personal use an alias or a self-writtten one-line
wrapper script would be enough.

I see the point of your proposal but I'm a bit reluctant about (and
if: how) implementing it at the moment.
