I did similar too, only I ended up getting so confused with the
various different solutions, none of which worked, I gave up :-(.

I tried both setting that option rebooting (just in case). It didn't
help.

I also looked at the modules loaded on my computer:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ cat /proc/modules | grep agp
intel_agp 21148 0 - Live 0xf8a99000
agpgart 29896 2 fglrx,intel_agp, Live 0xf8a90000

to me this looks like the correct module is being installed anyway.

Just in case, I unloaded the above modules and the fglrx module and
restarted X with agpgart=2 - curiously this loads agpgart (is this
normal? I thought setting agpgart=2 would stop this) and then gives
the same results.

If it wasn't for the fact this worked perfectly under sarge, I would
consider that maybe my AGP simply isn't supported.  Is intel_agp
suppose to log anything in dmesg if it works?
