Well, things picked up at some point afterwards since I got the Epson going. At this point in time both printers are OK. I don't now recall what got the HP up. I may have deleted all definitions of it and recreated the printer. Sorry my memory isn't better. I've also switched arch's as well (now amd64).. Kenward
