Well slapd seems to run again now after that one change.  I don't know
if I trust it enough to not keep crashing on me to actually start
authenticating (other than bugzilla) against it again.  It sure seems to
cause way to many crashes in anything that used pam in the last few
months much to my disappointment given ldap seems like such a handy nice
way to store passwords for everything to share.

Well a note about 'check your config for the following syntax changes'
would work for me.  Auto converting would just be a nice bonus, but many
things don't do that so that would be OK.
