Yeah, I noticed it, but had mixed feelings about packaging a beta.
I'll get in contact with upstream and see what they think about it.
I never heard back from Edward, unfortunately. Since the beta seems
to work fine (mostly) for my existing test cases, I decided to upload
it without any explicit approval from him.
Sorry for the delay. I had wanted to give Edward as much time as
possible to reply, and then I got a bit swamped with other things.
