After playing around with the NVIDIA X settings a bit, I have found the problem: gnome-background-settings cannot handle two screens of non-equal height (how did that happen ?) My default set-up uses a 1280x1024 and a 1680x1050 screen next to each other; if I change it to twice 1280x1024 or 1280x1024 & 1600x1024, it works. -- Regards, Thomas Jollans GPG key: 0xF421434B may be found on various keyservers, eg pgp.mit.edu Hacker key <http://hackerkey.com/>: v4sw6+8Yhw4/5ln3pr5Ock2ma2u7Lw2Nl7Di2e2t3/4TMb6HOPTen5/6g5OPa1XsMr9p-7/-6
