I don't use im-switch regularly do I haven't seen this bug, but I'll test soon. Recently I've also heard about gpg-agent not playing nice with logout and re-login for GNOME. There seems to be some signal communication when user logs out GNOME. Maybe scim is ignoring some signals it shouldn't. This is just pure speculation, of course. And I can be completely wrong.
