Package: bash
Version: 3.1dfsg-8
Severity: wishlist

I'd like the ability to bind keys to a command line that generates text for
insertion on the current command line. For example, I could then bind Ctrl-V
to "xclip -o" (with suitable checking of DISPLAY first).
