Hi Daniel, maybe I was a little fast in closing this bug. Since you omitted the version information, I assumed you were on sid or testing, but you are using the version in etch, and in etch the trie_size is indeed 27000.
However, in a clean chroot it's possible to install all texlive packages, so there must be something amiss on your system. > The value in tex-common is 400000, 270000 is not enough.
