LANG=C did not make any difference.

I cannot add the requested files as they do not exist:
belle:/home/folkert/site/consolecandy# ls -l
/var/lib/spkg/info/microcode.ctl.*
ls: /var/lib/spkg/info/microcode.ctl.*: No such file or directory
