Dear A. Maitland, I have an intent to NMU vtk rebuilt within current sid -- no changes to sources are introduced. That seems to fix http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=418201 .
Tentative packages are available from my repository at deb http://itanix.rutgers.edu/rumba sid perspect I am planning to upload the packages into DELAYED/7-day.
