Package: netinstall CDROM image Version: "etch" Platform: Sparc sun4m SPARCStation20
When attempting to use the netinstall CD image I consistently get to the point where it tries to mount the installation media to install the base programs necessary for network package download but the mount fails with: isofs_fill_super: bread failed, dev=sr0, iso_blknum=16, block=16 in the system log. The installation screen assumes that the CD is not in the drive. The CD is readable by a Debian-3 installation that also exists on the target machine...so, I can only assume that the Debian-4 installation process (isofs driver) is buggy. Multiple copies of the CDROM (burned at low speed) fail at that same point. CDROM: ancient SUN SCSI external CDROM drive. Also, trying to manually mount the media with mount -t isofs -o ro /dev/sr0 /cdrom fails with "Device not found" error...Drop the -t isofs and it errors with the iso_fill_super: error mentioned above. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Take the Internet to Go: Yahoo!Go puts the Internet in your pocket: mail, news, photos & more. http://mobile.yahoo.com/go?refer=1GNXIC -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
