Could you please send me your /etc/mtab file? It might also have
/export//export listed.

mtab on client (etch/amd64) with am-utils:

server:/export/home/kyb/agbs /.amd_mnt/server/export/home/kyb/agbs nfs rw,intr,nosuid,noconn,proto=tcp,rsize=8192,wsize=8192,vers=3 0 0

mtab on client (etch/amd64) with manual mount:

  server:/export /mnt nfs rw,addr=10.38.40.16 0 0

mtab on client (Ubuntu dapper/amd64):

  server:/export /mnt nfs rw,addr=10.38.40.16 0 0

mtab on server (etch/amd64):

  /dev/sdc /export ext3 rw,usrquota,grpquota 0 0

Yes, there is some amd madness involved but that shouldn't hurt. I also tested it with a manual mount and amd disabled.
