Package: kernel-source-2.6.11 Version: 2.6.11-3 This problem still remains in 2.6.11-3. Meanwhile, I have noticed that the system becomes very less responsive when heavy tasks are running with priority 0. Today, I had a similar problem again, but eventually I was able to kill the task. I pressed Ctrl+Alt+F1 for a console, but it only switched after 2 minutes. There was only 1 task running at 100% cpu with priority 0 (java from sun's j2sdk1.4.2_08), the rest were normal backgroundprocesses, desktop- and window manager.
