Merci Christian pour ces commentaires. Actually, it is because I want to make clear that 'Generic Genome Broswer' is not a generic name that I put 'The' in front, just like I would put 'Le' instead en français. For the same reason, I added 'from GMOD' after. To make things more complicated, there are more genome viewers in the GMOD project. (see http://www.gmod.org/wiki/index.php/GMOD_Components) How about : "The generic genome browser component of GMOD"? In parallel, I could rename the package gmod-gbrowse for instance, pour enfoncer le clou (to make the point). Here is a revised package description: Description: The generic genome browser component of the GMOD project The 'generic genome browser' component of the Generic Model Organism Database toolkit (GMOD) is a combination of database and interactive Web page for manipulating and displaying annotations on genomes. Some of its features: * Simultaneous bird's eye and detailed views of the genome; * Scroll, zoom, center; * Attach arbitrary URLs to any annotation; * Order and appearance of tracks are customizable by administrator and end-user; * Search by annotation ID, name, or comment; * Supports third party annotation using GFF formats; * Settings persist across sessions; * DNA and GFF dumps; * Connectivity to different databases, including BioSQL and Chado; * Multi-language support; * Third-party feature loading; * Customizable plug-in architecture (e.g. run BLAST, dump & import many formats, find oligonucleotides, design primers, create restriction maps, edit features). .
