We have tracked this down to an issue with the whirlpool hash on sparc64, which can be worked around by disabling the whirlpool hash in aide configuration. This might be a known mhash upstream bug (#1721000, http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1721000&group_id=4286&atid=104286) which should be addressed in Debian as well.
