They just directly call the hal functions to mount/umount. You should
look at src.manager.c, gvm_device_mount() and gvm_device_unmount() in
gnome-volume-manager how to call them. The gnome-mount source has
similar, but a bit more elaborate code to support supplying custom
mount options.

Anyway, this is something that should be done upstream.
