Package: spamassassin Version: 3.2.0-2 Severity: minor README.Debian says Cron job --------
There is a cron job in /etc/cron.daily/spamassassin that will automatically run sa-update and reload spamd every day if it is enabled. To enable this script, edit /etc/default/spamassassin. This script will work correctly with sa-compile (see below). But later, it also says sa-update --------- This package includes a script called "sa-update" that will download the latest set of rules distributed by upstream. This is currently a manual process, as it is still quite new. To update your rules, run the following as root.... I believe the later information is older, and needs to be updated or deleted. The instructions about how to run it manually would probably be useful to retain for those who don't want to run via cron. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (50, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-4-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages spamassassin depends on: ii libarchive-tar-perl 1.31-1 Archive::Tar - manipulate tar file ii libdigest-sha1-perl 2.11-2 NIST SHA-1 message digest algorith ii libhtml-parser-perl 3.56-1 A collection of modules that parse ii libio-zlib-perl 1.04-1 IO:: style interface to Compress:: ii libnet-dns-perl 0.59-1 Perform DNS queries from a Perl sc ii libsocket6-perl 0.19-1 Perl extensions for IPv6 ii libsys-hostname-long-perl 1.4-1 Figure out the long (fully-qualifi ii libwww-perl 5.805-1 WWW client/server library for Perl ii perl 5.8.8-7 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction Versions of packages spamassassin recommends: ii gnupg 1.4.6-2 GNU privacy guard - a free PGP rep ii libmail-spf-query-perl 1:1.999.1-3 query SPF (Sender Policy Framework pn libsys-syslog-perl <none> (no description available) pn re2c <none> (no description available) ii spamc 3.2.0-2 Client for SpamAssassin spam filte -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
